New Brochure Targets Pharmaceutical Sector

Flowcrete India has launched a new brochure showcasing its new hygienic floors for the pharmaceutical sector, which harness the natural power of silver.

The company has joined forces with internationally renowned chemicals and performance materials company Perstorp Chemicals AB to utilise their Polygiene® compound for state-of-the-art Flowfresh seamless flooring systems in the pharmaceutical industry.

Vivek Margasahayam Managing Director for Flowcrete India said: "This brochure shows how, working with Polygiene®, we are able to provide products offering the best possible protection to keep areas clean and sterile, which can even fight MRSA and SARS.

"A special additive in Polygiene® emits ions of silver, which kill bacteria, and the additive is locked into the resin matrix within Flowfresh floors. It can kill disease-causing bacteria and yeast on contact - a major step forward in delivering hygiene performance across the range of pharmaceutical environments.

"The silver is being used within Flowcrete's range of time-proven floor finishes for the pharmaceutical industry, which are geared up to the unique needs of the sector, including the ability to provide a slipresistant surface, as well as systems that can be steam cleaned and are non-shedding to company withthe strict hygiene and performance regimes within a plant."

"The process is invisible and remains active throughout the lifetime of the product, even when damaged or worn, unlike coatings or surface treatments."

Other flooring materials featured in the brochure include decorative terrazzo, smooth epoxy systems and fast installation products - all of which deliver a seamless finish to improve cleanability and hygiene within sanitary clean-room environments.
